Last month, Austin Friars held an inaugural Augustinian Educators Weekend, welcoming staff from other Augustinian schools to participate in a dynamic forum of ideas, exploring the ways that international Augustinian schools can work together to enhance the educational experience of pupils - either through staff development, exchanges, or other collaborative projects.

Representatives from St Augustine College in Malta, Skola sv. Augustina in Prague, the Colegios San Agustin in Seville and Alicante in Spain, Santo Tomas de Villanueva in Valencia and Colegio Los Olivios in Malaga enjoyed a positive and creative weekend with much sharing of experience and expertise, and a feverish discussion of possible projects. We were also thrilled that Fr Joseph Farrell O.S.A, Vicar General of the Augustinian Order, and Fr Ian Wilson O.S.A were able to join for the weekend.

It is hoped to seize the momentum from the meeting to get some of the projects off the ground very soon and explore opportunities for the pupils to travel and make connections with their peers in other European countries. Watch this space!
